Secretary’s Message

Jayantha Weerasekera

Secretary, FSOQ

Dear friends,

The Federation of Sri Lankan Organisations of Queensland is a Sri Lankan association incorporated in the Office of Fair Trading Queensland as a not-for-profit association.

The FSOQ represents the Sri Lankan community in Queensland and is strengthened by eight major Sri Lankan associations: Visit the member organisations page on our site for details as to who they are and what they do.

The FSOQ represents the Sri Lankan community at large in all matters of concern to Sri Lankans living in our state and engaging with the broader community in association with the Consular Offices and Federal, State and Local governments in Australia. Further, through the Sri Lankan High Commissioner and Consular Officers, the FSOQ reaches out with help to the Government of Sri Lanka in disaster situations, cultural events and investment promotions.

We like to highlight the service undertaken to provide Sri Lankan rural hospitals with the continuing supply of electrically operated hospital beds and medical equipment secured from Queensland health authorities. Please explore our pages on this site to get an insight into what the FSOQ and its members are doing to benefit the communities in Sri Lanka and Australia.

Our strength is the Queensland community, and we share the values of multicultural Australia with no ethnicity nor religion but as Sri Lankans in Australia.

Through our web we are reaching out to diverse Sri Lankan groups all over the world in serving our motherland with commitment while enriching our lives in Australia.

With my thanks for your continued support.
